Educator Specialists
Interested in becoming an Educator Specialists for the Minnesota Council on Economic Education?
MCEE Educator Specialists work closely with MCEE staff and affiliated university economic center directors in the development and delivery of K-12 teacher professional development programs in economics and personal finance throughout Minnesota. MCEE's mission is to ensure all K-12 teachers and students in higher education teacher preparation programs, responsible for teaching MN economics and personal finance academic standards, or the required high school course in personal finance, understand concepts and effective pedagogy practices to teach with confidence.

Eligibility
To be considered for the MCEE’s Educator Specialists program, a teacher must:
Hold a current MN teaching license
Have demonstrated professional development and experience in economics and/or personal finance education
Application Process
Complete and submit the MCEE Educator Specialists Application. Prior to completing the application it will be helpful to have the following information readily available:
Personal written statement explaining why you want to become a Educator Specialists and how you will contribute to the mission of MCEE
Resume or curriculum vitae that outlines:
Education Background
Teaching License(s)
Teaching Experience (specifically related to economics and personal finance)
Professional growth and accomplishments
Educational leadership activities
One letter of support from current principal or superintendent
Eligible applicants will be invited to interview with MCEE staff.
If selected for the MCEE Educator Specialists program, teachers will be required to:
Teach or co-teach MCEE webinars and/or in-person workshops
Promote the MCEE Educator Specialists program within your schools
Potentially conduct MCEE teacher development training in your schools
Serve as an ambassador on behalf of MCEE within your schools and schools of higher education in your area to promote MCEE, Minn-Econ, MCEE Teaching Awards Program, Economics Challenge, Personal Finance Decathlon, and other MCEE events
Assist MCEE staff on committees such as selecting Teaching Award honorees
Attend CEE’s Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference (at least every three to five years)
Attend at least two CEE workshops/webinars a year
