Personal Finance Certification
MCEE Educator Certification: High School Personal Finance | June 23-26 | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CT | In-Person at UMN - St. Paul Campus | Grade 9-12
In collaboration with Next Gen Personal Finance, embark on a transformative learning experience with our MCEE Educator Certification: High School Personal Finance course. This immersive program is specially crafted for high school educators who are new (or newish) to teaching personal finance or unfamiliar with its content. This unique professional development session blends engaging content, hands-on experiences, and exclusive networking opportunities to ensure that teachers leave ready and equipped to teach high school personal finance. A collaborative effort between the Minnesota Council on Economic Education and Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF).
In-Person Engagement: Join us on-site for a dynamic four days of personal finance education exploration with teachers from across the state.
Prep & Progress: Dive into pre-work NGPF online modules, W!se pre-test, and W!se post-test to focus your learning and track your progress.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Gain the tools, resources, and confidence to teach an engaging and impactful high school personal finance course aligned with national CEE/Jump$tart personal finance standards and the Minnesota Department of Education personal finance guidance.

Registration Fee: $75 (reimbursed after course completion)

Compensation: $500 Amazon Gift Card to support your commitment for the full four days*.
Compensation gift card available to current MN 5-12 licensed teachers in Agricultural Education, Business Education, FACS, Math, or Social Studies who successfully complete all pre-work and in-person course requirements.
Nourishment: Continental breakfast, snack, and lunch will be provided daily (dietary restrictions asked during registration).
Participants who attend the entire session will be awarded 45 (32 in-person hours & 13 NGPF module/virtual hours) Continuing Education Units (CEU) credits.
Recognition: In addition to the 45 CEUs, successful participants will receive a MCEE certification (officially recognized on MCEE’s website) and national W!se Certification.
Experiences Beyond Content: Enjoy simulations, guest speakers, and networking with experienced educators. Gain year-long support from experienced high school teachers and mentoring sessions.

Eligibility:
This course is open to current MN 5-12 licensed teachers in Agricultural Education, Business Education, FACS, Math, or Social Studies
This course will only be offered if at least 10 teachers register.
Accommodations and Parking Scholarship: By request to mcee@umn.edu prior to June 19, participants traveling outside of the 13-county metro area are eligible for up to $125/night reimbursement hotel stay. Daily parking validation will be provided.
