Brigitta Bergquist

Brigitta Bergquist serves as the Education Director, Grades 9-12 at the Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE). With a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to education and equity, she has dedicated her career to empowering students and educators alike.


Brigitta holds a Masters from St.Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Science from Bemidji State University. Her passion for teaching and learning has been the driving force behind her academic pursuits.


With more than 18 years of high school classroom teaching experience, primarily in economics education, Brigitta has influenced the lives of countless students. Her dynamic teaching style combined with a genuine passion for her subject has inspired young minds to explore the intricacies of economics and financial literacy and its absolute relevance in their lives.


Outside of her professional commitments, you will find Brigitta spending quality time with her family and friends. She is an avid reader, sports enthusiast, trivia and bingo fan, and actively participates in community events, like working at the scorer’s table for all home basketball games. 


Brigitta’s core values include a deep commitment to lifelong learning, a relentless pursuit of equity and access to knowledge for everyone, and a vision of creating well-informed, prepared society members.  Her upbringing in a rural town in northern MN has instilled in her a profound appreciation for the transformative power of education across the state.
